The video starts with super cold weather and takes place in the North Pole, inside of the rapper’s own gigantic Christmas factory. Lil Nas X plays his own version of Santa Clause, as well as other icy characters, with super unique costumes and style unlike any other musician today.
Shortly after releasing his EP, the artist came out as gay, losing some fans, but gaining others. The day was a big step for Black musicians, especially those in the rap community, which can often be full of homophobia.
